A quest for meaning and style on the Camino de Santiago

An experimentally illustrated travel report of my pilgrimage on the Way of St. James in Spain‚ based on my journal from 2008.

Every important passage is illustrated in a different technique, sometimes painted outdoors with the influence of wind and rain or using slow layering and printing methods resembling the pace of a pilgrim‘s walk.

Travelling distances can be retraced by fitting the bookmark, a map of the trail, to the page numbers, which show the milestones of the trek.

Water is our most important ressource – that‘s why we need to protect it! The Water Saving Poster published by the Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Regions and Tourism (BMLRT) shows how easy it is to save water and motivates children and teens to action. The illustrated posters + stickers were sent to austrian schools, adjusted for social media and animated for an educational video showing on websites and social media platforms of the BMLRT.

The »Human Rights Space« is a meeting place for learning about children's and human rights. Experts from the human rights field, youth workers, artists, teachers and students designed the »Human Rights Space« together with children and young people and are supporting them in actively standing up for their rights. My tasks for this project were the development of the corporate design and key visuals, photographs at the kick-off festival, graphic design and illustrations for the exhibition.
